OK, so we set out on 2013 with the goal to get back into the swing of things with reading one book for the show every month, but we’re failing at that. Only 4 months left in this years calendar and we’ve only managed to finish 2 book shows for you.
It’s not like we’re lazy illiterates, we keep the weekly short-format Snippet Episodes coming out to you where we discuss industry related blog articles! I’ve personally read almost 30 books this year, except only 2 of the titles are relevant to the podcast.
Anyway, just thought we would acknowledge this obvious shift in the shows format and open the floor to you listeners — let us know, do you even care that we’re mostly only covering blog articles these days? Do you miss the books shows? Is there a book you would really like us to read and discuss on Pagebreak?
I do enjoy when you talk about a book. I also enjoy the snippets. If you told me you were never going to have a show about a complete book again, I’ll still be subscribed and enjoying the snippets. In other words don’t worry too much.
Are you putting too much pressure on yourselves to read books for the show? Sometimes it’s harder to get into one when there’s a deadline? Why not just read what you want to read. I’m guessing you’ll both have some overlap in your reading and when you do you can talk about that book.
Again, I do enjoy the book shows. It’s nice to get the longer format. Sometimes you’ve talked about something I’ve read and I enjoy hearing a different perspective than my own. Sometimes it’s a book I’m thinking about getting and it’s nice to here the review first. However, I enjoy listening to the show in general and I’m not going anywhere book show or not.
Thanks for your input and your support, Steven!
